Day 5 – How important you think education is?

Well, today' blog would be fairly simple for me. Seeing that I am a college grad, education for me is extremely important. In today' tough and competitive job market, education is essential. Aside from the fact that with education you gain skills in order to be a usual citizen or to become successful, education widens the mind. In order for an economy to be great, we need individuals that are highly trained, and knowledgeable not only in their field, but in general. Going to school prepares you to handle complex situations, and to solve problems efficiently. Ignorance is the root of all evil in my opinion, gaining an education changes the way you view the world outside. Of course, college may not be for everyone, but getting a basic education can prepare you, and you gain certain skills that even the most basic jobs can sometimes require.

I know that I can expand and better answer this question. Bu,t since i'm pressed for time tonight i'll just leave it like this. I'll try to expand on this post on a later date.

Ta, ta for now.

Well, I almost forgot about this blog challenge, so here's one that i found. This was during spring break, and i was visiting my home town (i was in college in another town at the time). We had fun, and I miss her dearly.

Day 3 of blog challenge:

So it's day 3 now, and today;s challenge is what's your idea of the perfect first date. Ha ha, hmm perfect first date, let's see. As I listen to My Funny Valentine sung by Frank Sinatra, it creates the perfect mood for writing today's blog.

I think that having a first date on valentine would be super cute (imagine if he's the man you're bound to marry?), having an anniversary on valentine would be cute as well. So, let's say it's on valentine's day. I'd like to go to a nice quaint restaurant with great food, maybe Italian (what can I say, I love pasta). During dinner we'd talk, and get to know each other, maybe there's a little dance floor for couples to dance on. As we finish dessert, My Funny Valentine starts to play, and he smiles a dazzling smile at me (with cute dimples on his face), and says to me "care to dance with me". Then we head to the dance floor, as other couples join in, and slow dance to this song. After dinner, maybe we go out to a drive in movie, hmm maybe since it's valentine they'd be showing the classic An Affair to Remember (ohhh that Carey Grant!). As we watch the film, he puts his arms around my shoulder and pull me closer to him. During the final scenes, as they kiss, he turns to face me, we lock eyes, and kiss. After the movie, we go dancing. He takes me to a classy club, near the water, and we dance by the glittering water, side by side, talking, laughing. It's late, he takes me home. We arrive, he opens the door for me, takes me up to my door, tells me sweet things (that delight my heart), and he says "beautiful, it was an amazing night, I can't wait to see you again.", and we kiss a sweet kiss.

Oh, and I'd love it if this all took place in Venice or something, haha! Maybe we're friends, or we are co-workings on a business trip and he asks me out. Location wise, yeah Venice or Paris would be amazing (of course the date would change accordingly). Haha, this seems more like a date from a movie, but what can I say it's supper romantic, and a little romance on the first date would be wonderful! Sigh.

Day 2 of blog challenge:

Well, here's day two, and today we have to list "your favorite movie". Again, just like naming your favorite music was difficult, this presents a challenge as well since I'm a big movie buff.

But, I'll list a few movies in no particular order that have stayed with me over the years.

  •   I just loved this adaption of Jane Austen's P&P (who doesn't love Colin as Mr. Darcy). I watch a Jane Austen marathon at least a couple of times in the year, i watch most of the adaptions of her novels.
  •  What can be said about this film. Okay, yes it is a very southern movie, and prob on the conservative side but it had a beautiful ending. I just love the southern atmosphere of the film, and the ending of this film is touching. I love the title, it suggests that women can be as delicate as a magnolias but touch as steel, this is true when it comes to M'Lynn. I love how she took her daughters death, how she was the last one there as her daughter was taken of life support. One of my favorite quotes from the film was:  M'Lynn: I find it amusing. Men are supposed to be made out of steel or something. I just sat there. I just held Shelby's hand. There was no noise, no tremble, just peace. Oh god. I realize as a woman how lucky I am. I was there when that wonderful creature drifted into my life and I was there when she drifted out. It was the most precious moment of my life.
  •  Not enough words can describe this film, truly a great film. I just loved this idea of the afterlife, honestly I feel as though it is a beautiful thought worth keeping and how wonderful if our dreams could live on even after death. That, even though our physical bodies have died, that our minds (what makes us who we are, our essence) would continue to live on, free from the shackles and limits that we have in this present state of being (reality in this afterlife is only as limited as your imagination). I love the idea of a love that can almost overcome death, that continues even after death. Superb acting, superb story line, overall a beautiful film that is a must watch.

Day 1 of blog challenge

Okay, so I am starting a 30 day Blog challenge with a friend tonight. This should be interesting, at any rate it'll fill my days of busy nothingness at least haha.

First day for the blog challenge is to name your favorite song. Well, that is easier said than done (haha, rather difficult for me). I have such a wide range of music that I listen to, and enjoy, that it is hard to just choose one (rather, simply impossible for me to do so). So I think I'll just list some of the songs based on the genre of music that I am listening to at the moment (which it turns out to be classical nonetheless).

In the classical genre of music, i have my top two favorite composers (of course I have a list of names that go after 2). But, to make this easier, hahaha, for myself I'll choose my top two composers and go from there. My top two would have to be Beethoven, and Mozart (ha not very surprising, these are one of the greats). Maybe another day I'll go into more detail on why I love them so much, and why one is my #1 and the other 2nd.

Okay here are some of the ones that I like from these composers (I'll keep it short):

  • Symphony No. 5 - Beethoven
  • Fur Elise- Beethoven
  • Piano Sonata No. 14, Moonlight Sonata- Beethoven
  • Concerto No. 5 - Beethoven
  • Sonata No. 8 - Beethoven
  • Symphony No. 7- Beethoven
  • Symphony No. 25- Mozart
  • Symphony No. 29 - Mozart
  • Piano Concerto No. 20 - Mozart
  • Mass in C minor - Mozart
  • Serenade No. 10 for winds in B flat major - Mozart
  • Serenade No. 13- Mozart
  • Concerto No. 21 - Mozart
  • Sonata for Piano No. 11, Rondo Alla Turca - Mozart
  • Concerto in C Major for Flute, Harp, and Orchestra. Andantino (aww, I just love this one, love the flute solo's) - Mozart
Okay, I could list tons of more, but I think I'll stop at this. ^^

Blog Title

My blog title comes from a quote of one of Jane Austen's novels. I love Jane's novels (as she is one of my favorite authors) and any movie pertaining to the novels or herself.  This quote really speaks to me at the moment, because I truly feel as though life's a "successions of  busy nothings". Right now, my life's a succession of busy nothings rather than any exciting happenings. Haha
